Spacious, elevated patio

When these homeowners in Stillwater needed to replace their aging deck, their backyard view of the woods and wildlife was something they wanted to preserve.

Villa Landscapes designed an elevated deck using a VERSA-LOK retaining wall

Villa Landscapes designed an elevated deck using a VERSA-LOK retaining wall—going from ground level to 42" tall—as a support for their new patio to replace the deck. The result was a beautiful, open spacious patio made with Willow Creek Cobblestone pavers that didn't have any barriers, like a deck railing, to the view. A contrasting course of river rock was used to create the perfect visual and physical boundary and a space for potted plants.

Many people can relate

Many people can relate to this homeowner's predicament, the need to replace a rotting wood deck and a crumbling concrete patio in the backyard as well as a crumbling, uninviting concrete walkway in the front.

Woodbury Residence

For the back yard, a more spacious elevated patio was the perfect solution with a planter and steps down to yard level. Because they are more durable and require little to no maintenance, elevated and ground-level patios are the preferred choice when replacing old decks. Perimeter seating and space for a chiminea or fire bowl adds to the perfect outdoor living space.

In the front, Villa Landscapes designed a unique entry court using Willow Creek Cobblestone pavers, a circular landing and a curved VERSA-LOK retaining wall, creating a usable, inviting front entry that also solved stormwater issues.

From drab to dramatic

This Maplewood homeowner's front entry went from drab to dramatic with the addition of a ground level patio using Willow Creek Cobblestone paving stones, a VERSA-LOK Retaining Wall Systems seat wall and a matching single course of pavers as a tidy garden border. This Maplewood homeowner's front entry went from drab to dramatic with the addition of a ground level patio using Willow Creek Cobblestone paving stones, a VERSA-LOK Retaining Wall Systems seat wall and a matching single course of pavers as a tidy garden border. With overgrown plants in the front and the space virtually unusable, the home owners wanted a living space with plenty of room for outdoor furnishings such as the movable fire table or a table and chairs. The perimeter seat wall gives the area a cozy "front porch" ambience.

No need to escape to the woods!

An investment to last a lifetime!

A half-circle garden adds a graceful transition to the driveway from the patio area.

Updating the front walkway adds miles of curb appeal from front door to driveway. The graceful walkway, using Willow Creek Cobblestone Lakeshore Blend pavers, looks stunning with the Prairie Tan border as well as the arched window. The VERSA-LOK retaining wall in Chestnut Blend creates additional interest with a tiered garden and plantings. Extra outdoor living space for seating, grilling or whatever you desire, is achieved with a wider patio area within the walkway.
